Crane Rooms

Hotel project, by Aristide Antonas, in collaboration with Katerina Koutsogianni

These hotel's rooms were designed to be set along the Greec coast, in arid and rocky places. The unit is made of a water pool and a room on crane. In addition to the bed, the room provids a wardrobe, a shower and toilets, a screen hung up and a small office including an internet connection. It goes up and down, following the inhabitant will, who is able to control the heigh from his room. A common kitchen is located on the ground.

Just a project of course... I'm not sure either that these flying containers are a solution as an architecture of the beaches which still lefts wild. But it could be an up-to-date of cabin in trees. Not to bring insulation, because the lodger has to share the kitchen and to manage the height in order to not have any face-to-face! But the idea of a room surrounded by air, hoist in space, keeps an essential feature of the cabin in tree : to get another point of view on things. It could be better a cabin in urban trees...
